I know I have addressed this issue a couple of times, but this time I just couldn't help it. I had to get it off my chest. During my recent visits to many Ramadan Exhibitions. I have noticed an alarming trend. Many of the exhibition holders who were displaying their "original" pieces were actually displaying designer knockoff dresses. This is just plain wrong. It's somehow acceptable to make designer inspired pieces, but not copy the entire design to the last thread. Would you rather be known as the girl who had an exhibition of designer knockoffs or the girl with the ultimate sense of creativity? As a designer, how do you justify a knockoff? Here are a couple of the designs which were copied: Temperley's S/S 2007 white dress with black embroidery. The " designer " opted for a yellow background instead of white. I'm sure most of you have seen snapshots of celebs on the red carpet for the Emmy Awards . Most celebs went for classic, glamorous, and rainbow-color looks. However, I was slightly disappointed. No fireworks for me. I expected to see more fashion-risky celebs donned in the latest fall trends. Fashion-risky as in stylish Chloe Sevigny not the "swan-ish" Bijork kind of fashion-risky. It's time to look for this Fall's best cover-up. The leather Jacket . And this is my first find, this incredibly supple shrunken leather jacket is sold at Marella boutique at Salhiya Complex . The jacket has 3/4 sleeves and one button closure from the front. It's sooo beautiful and very well cut. You can wear it over a long tee and slim leg jeans or with a tank top and high-waisted baggy pants. Or better yet, over a chiffon dress. The Jacket costs KD 199 .
