Pre-Falling Fendi

Fendi is my go-to brand for high-quality shoes and handbags, and compared to other brands so far, their pieces are mostly reasonably priced, excluding their fur collection that is. I popped in the brand's boutique in Prestige/Grand Avenue to check out their new Pre-Fall selection of accessories. Fendi stayed true to its S/S designs by re-presenting shoes with pyramid-studded-heels, like the ones shown above and below. I liked the combination of cobalt blue and brown of the heels shown above. leopard prints made an appearance too, I didn't go crazy over them. My favorite pair were the black suede pumps with furry detail in the front, I know I'll be getting a lot of "Are these skunks attached to your feet?!" kind of comments, but they looked so elegant and timeless. I'll be adding them to my wishlist for now, I'm not sure if they're genuine or faux fur.

The chain necklace in the last photo was simply divine, and last but not least, I instantly fell in love with Fendi Selleria's selection of handbags, I was shocked by their price tags though, so unlike Fendi I thought to myself. But according to the sales lady,  the reason why this line is expensive is because each bag is entirely handmade, the holes punctured with surgical precision, the stitches applied with a special needle and a waxed thread. The entire process is six times longer than a machine-made one.

Also she has informed me that this year marks a new chapter for Fendi Selleria. It presents 8 exclusive new models named after founder Adele Fendi and her five daughters: Franca, Paola, Carla, Alda and Anna plus two iconic shapes, the Baguette and the Peekaboo.

No one does fur quite like Fendi, for Pre Fall 2013, Fendi presents us with black suede pumps with black and white skunk-like fur detail. These designs are for those who love luxury and standing out.

Fendi's Adele bag made out of the softest leather I have ever seen, beautiful!

Magical Mode

As anyone who regularly reads Confashions may know, there are some designers I’ve been obsessed with for quite some time: one is the genius Erdem , the other is Nicholas Kirkwood , and Pierre Hardy . And because their designs are somehow easily accessible online and offline, I had the pleasure of featuring some of their creations and showing them the love they deserve. That said, there is one designer I’ve been particularly smitten with for quite some time. He has always been on the top of my favorite designers list ever since I was introduced to his designs by my fabulous fellow fashionisto Adnan Z Manjal   a couple of years back : Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi . I always wished I featured him more. I couldn’t because his pieces are very exclusive and as far as I know not stocked anywhere here. This clearly isn't just another post on my obvious love for Mohammed Ashi’s designs or the quality of his clothes as I have done that previously. Ashi simply deserves his very own epic p...

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

Miu Miu Pays Tribute to the Middle East

Everyone who knows me, knows that I have a soft spot for bag charms. They're fun, cute, and add a dose of irresistible character to your plain handbag. So when I got the news about Miu Miu paying tribute to the Middle Eastern culture by presenting an exclusive playful yet multifunctional accessories in luxurious precious skin, I got excited intrigued. The round-shaped charms has the Arabic alphabet, each piece presenting a letter design with metallic hues and vibrant colors. They're cute, nothing groundbreaking. I'm not sure if these bags charms would step up my bag charms game, but I guess it depends on their price tag and how "exclusively" exclusive they are. Maybe they'll grow on me? I don't know... What do you think? The charms should be available exclusively in  Miu Miu   Boutiques throughout our region.
