I'm super excited and proud to share with you that Kuwaiti Director Dana Al Mojil won the Best Director award at the Fifth Gulf Film Festival last Monday in Dubai for her movie Wonderland: A True Story.
Filmed in Kuwait, Wonderland: A True Story is an adaptation of Lewis
Carroll’s Alice’s in Wonderland and it reflects on various sociopolitical issues within our region. It is also worth mentioning that the film won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 Zero Film Festival in Los Angeles.
I had the pleasure of attending the screening of Wonderland: A True Story almost a month ago and was very impressed with the ideas expressed within the film, the quality of production and direction, and most of all, the performance of the actors and actresses.
Congratulations Dana and looking forward to your future projects.
