I had the pleasure to attend the Haute Muse and Matches event in Doha-Qatar the other night. It was a wonderfully organized gathering to celebrate the launch of Qatari fashion magazine Haute Muse. The event also saw online luxury portal Matchesfashion.com hosting its first event outside London and in the Middle East. The event was surly a feast for the eyes of any fashion lover, with gorgeous selected pieces from the S/S 2011 collections by Balenciaga, YSL, Erdem, DVF, Lanvin, Christopher Kane, and Stella McCartney at every corner. I was able to order anything I liked, and Matches would have it shipped in my size in two weeks, before it hits the stores! That nearly made me want to spend allll of my savings right there and then but remarkably I had a cell of self-restraint in my body and opted for one item only.
And that was not all, the event also had Diane Von Furstenberg Vintage collection on display brought by UK-based Stylist Iman Pasha and the guest honor was none other than the cute-as-a-button socialite Olivia Palermo, who looked so glowing up close and personal and sooo skinny! Needless to say I felt like an obese standing next to her to have our picture taken (I didn’t have dinner that night!!) Anyways, here are some pics of that beautiful night.
Haute Muse Magazine is the brainchild of two young Qatari women Fatma Al-Thani and Noor Al-Thani whom I wish the best of luck and I salute them for their commitment and passion for fashion.
