Cirque Du Miu Miu

I passed by Villa Moda the other day to check out the new Miu Miu Spring/Summer runway collection. At first glance, some of the items looked average, but give it a thorough artistic glance (meaning: try them on) and you will realize how this collection offered an avant-garde pieces of ballerina and French maid costumes with a modern chic twist. I have added here photos of all the items available now at Miu Miu Kuwait.

Mind you, most of the items were ultra short, but you can always improvise if you're not a fan of showing off your stems. Try pairing jackets (like my fave black ruffled jackets with white collar shown in the first pic) with slim leg pants. Some of the dresses and skirts can be altered to look 3-4 inches longer. Whatever item you plan to purchase, do not wear it with flats. Choose platform shoes to balance the volume of the pieces. By the way, don't expect to see the accessories runway collection yet. The only thing available from the runway collection were tiny mobile charms (!).

Miu Miu boutique is located at Villa Moda Shuwaikh Free Trade Zone. For inquiries, please call (+965) 482-7004.

I love the way you describe it - " showing off their stems." :)
C'est hilarious!
There's no vulgarity in revealing all - stems included, if you have a near perfect body stat to flaunt. Quite often, though, all we see is women showing off their stems the size of banyan tree trunks and that can be a bit off putting to us, men as I am sure it must be to a lot of fashionista femme fatales out there.
Miu Miu summer collection is indeed very catty this time round! It's also very youthful and great attention to detail has been paid to make it most user friendly for the hot Kuwaiti summers.

Love all of em, are they as super short as they look?

Well.. it's not THAT "user-friendly" as it looks in the photos for our hot summer. The fabrics are meant to be for the evening... in an air conditioned place! :)

Well for some pieces, Yes. But as I said, some can be altered to look longer so they'd look find with high heels.

btw, the collection ranges between KD 300 to approimately KD 900.

dear confashion, you recommends to pair the dresses with slim leg pants, why not jeans? what about shorts? skirts?

Many thanks

I wish those dresses were just a tiny bit longer so they are wearable in Kuwait... Most dresses get thrown to the back of my closet cos they're too short to wear alone and it's too hot to wear tights ...

hi, have you been to Villa Moda Al Manshar yet? Sounds interesting....worth a visit? By the way, Villa Moda sale in the Movenpick tent did reduce items to 80 and 90% Even had new handbags from Marni and Anya Hindmarch at 80% off.

Hi, visited the new Villa Moda in Al Manshar last night.......rather disappointing. For a start the interior design made me dizzy and actually is quite frustrating!! There were a couple of new brands that are very reasonably priced but nothing to write home about! Perfume and make up are just boring, thought I would at least see Laura Mercier but it seems a local beauty company has just leased an area of the store. Worth a look but would much rather spend a few hours at Mubarakiya or Shuwaikh.

This collection of Miu Miu does not go with jeans, in my opinion as least. It's too dressy for denim. And if you're referring to the 2nd picture, it would be nice to be worn with slim leg dressy pants or on their own if you're able to alter it's length. You can also wear it with opaque tights for windy nights.

I couldn't agree more.. :| but if you're on the petite side, try them on, but they won't look as short on you.

It all depends on your wardrobe and your style. If you're into rock chic look then I say go for it. For some reason, I don't think it will be re-produced for seasons to come and it might be a one-season-kind of bag if you're ok with that.

No I haven't been to it yet. I was planning to go to the opening but unfortunately got tied up with other things. Was the library open?

We totally empathise with you. Fortunately, today in Kuwait you can be more adventurous with what you wear than at any point in history or more than in any other country in the Persian Gulf region :)
Already we have happened upon several South Surra Saadias and Jabriya Jameelas in their Chloe chiffon abayas wearing Miu Miu micro-minis inside, as they jaywalked past us at busy traffic intersections.

reply to anonymous regarding black miu miu frock:
depending on your personality this piece can be versatile, try with slim fitting blk pants with some sort of hem detailing (either a faux cuff, or topped off with a symmetrical line of three buttons on the side) if you want to be adventurous & oh soo naughty pair with see through light organza or chiffon pants (think Bill Blass circa 93). The return of black/white contrast is also into consideration, pair with white peddle pushers or borrow from the boys with a fabulous wide leg pant. You can absolutely carry off with denim; just make sure its super dark & flared- have fun
P>S:Whatever you do, kindly refrain from ruining with leggings, in fact; in case you own any please chop them to pieces.

Chanel Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection

I can't remember if I shared my views about Chanel's Dubai Cruise 2015 Collection on my blog or not, but I thought I'd share with you some photos of the pieces on display now at Chanel Boutique in Kuwait, Prestige in the Avenues and Salhiya Complex. I wasn't too crazy about the clothes. However, I did like some of the bags which had pompoms and tassels on them, as well as the gigantic pearl clutch. I also loved the Moroccan-inspired pointy flats and the silver jewelry adorned with coins and crescents. Of course the shoes were sold out in my size and I wasn't so crazy about the patterned ones. I LOVED the flap bag with Pom Poms, but it was above my budget. Overall the collection felt more Moroccan than Dubai-an. I wish if they have incorporate more of the our gulf region's culture into the designs. Oh And I added to this post photos of Chanel's milk carton shaped python clutch bag embellished with a CC signature. They're not part of the Dubai colle

Altuzarra or Aquazzura?

That is the question. It took me a whole season to finally tell these two brands apart, and this season, there's no mistake, each brand is now engraved in my fashion database like a personalized Tiffany's pen. And this Resort 2015 season, I'm head over heels with their flats, on display now at AlOthman Boutique . Altuzarra's version comes in a tonal-gray water snake and are decorated with beige shells, red beads and silver sequins. Aquazzura's lace-up sandals come in a beautiful shade of apple green, and will work with white or bright colored casual summer outfit.  After much thought and sole-searching, I have decided to go for the  Altuzarra   sandals. They're safely stored in my closet, waiting for the dust and the cold to go away.  Which pair would you go for?

To New Beginnings...

"What did this Corona crisis teach you?" my friend asked. My first thought was thing crisis has opened my eyes on the simple pleasures of life. My priorities have changed. And I feel every day is a new beginning. First of all, it made me realize how much I miss blogging. How simple and mentally satisfying it was to jolt down my thoughts on a field that I was very passionate about. I have to admit that I'm not as passionate now. Don't get me wrong, I still like fashion, but it's now on the bottom of my priorities list. I would like to blog about other things too that I feel much related to. I recently discovered that I do enjoy cooking. For the longest time, cooking to me was a nightmare.  This corona crisis has taught us that we can look forward to a new day with new possibilities to contribute or to help another, or to simply approach things differently, and most importantly to make the most of each day we have and share that goodness with others.
